About GroPDF
GroPDF is a free collection of online PDF tools that run in your web browser. Compress, merge, split, convert, edit, sign, and protect PDF files without installing software or creating an account.
What GroPDF does
We provide 37 free PDF tools covering the most common document tasks:
- Organize: Merge, split, rotate, delete pages, extract pages, organize
- Compress: Reduce file size with adjustable quality levels
- Convert: PDF to Word, Excel, JPG, PNG, Text — and back
- Edit: Add text, draw, highlight, add page numbers, watermarks
- Secure: Add passwords, remove passwords, clean metadata, redact
- Smart tools: OCR scanned PDFs, summarize documents, search within PDFs
How it works
Most GroPDF tools process your files directly in your browser using JavaScript, so your documents stay on your device — no upload, no waiting. All tools — including Protect PDF — run entirely in your browser.
Why free?
GroPDF is free to use. We may display advertising in the future to support hosting costs, but the tools themselves will remain free without requiring accounts or subscriptions.
Our approach
- Simple: No accounts, no installation, no learning curve. Drop a file, click a button, download the result.
- Private: Client-side processing means your files stay on your device for 36 of 37 tools.
- Honest: We tell you exactly how each tool works, including limitations. Our Word and Excel converters are labeled beta because complex layouts can reflow. Our compression rasterizes pages — we don't claim otherwise.
Limitations
GroPDF tools are designed for everyday PDF tasks. They are not a replacement for professional desktop software for complex print production, precise legal redaction workflows, or certified digital signatures. Our Sign PDF tool adds a visual signature, not a cryptographic certificate.
